Happy Friday ya’ll! Not to give your work before the weekend, but I need your help. I have 3 1/2 months left in my shopping resolution (you can learn more about that here) and I can only buy six more items, in order to hit my goal of only buying 24 pieces of clothing this year. As a reminder, accessories and shoes technically don’t count for this goal, but they do cost money (sigh) so I’d like to stay mindful! These next few months will be very expensive, so I’m trying to be more intentional with what I purchase in general.
Below are some of the items on my wishlist for the fall and I’d love your take. Are they worth buying or should I hold off? I’m hoping to cut down this list significantly and I trust your judgement and taste.
Thanks in advance for voting!
By Anthropologie Faux-Suede Trench Coat
I live close to a pretty incredible Western vintage store (shout out to Howdy’s Vintage in Austin) and have found some great second-hand suede pieces there. I’ve been on the hunt for a suede trench coat, but so far, nothing’s turned up. I’m going to give it some time, but this Anthro version might be the ticket.

Dolce Vitta Marie Tote
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I really wanted the Medium Vittoria Tote Bag from Reformation in the lighter brown shade. I’ve been on the waitlist for months and it looks like the color is likely not coming back in stock. I happened on this bag, and honestly, love it more. Plus, it’s about $200 less. I’ll let ya’ll vote, but I’m getting this.
Price: $298
The Boxy Sweater in Everyday Cotton
I love a breathable cotton sweater that I can layer and this cocoa color is too good. I feel pretty confident I’ll end up buying this (polls be damned!) since Everlane sweaters always seem to fit me well and hold up through the years.
Price: $98
Massimo Dutti Veined Stone Necklace
I love the maroon-y brown color of these beads, but I’m wondering if something this simple is worth spending $100 on when I’m sure I could find a dupe out there. Even though I’m pretty anti-dupe, I have been burned by quite a few pieces of expensive jewelry lately that are already wearing despite the price tag. I also could take a quick trip to Michaels and attempt a worse version of this?
Price: $99
Twill Pajama Set in Trick or Treat
Speaking of spending $100 — I want nothing more than to be a matching pajama set girl but spending $100 to not even be awake while wearing something is kinda crazy!! Halloween is my favorite holiday and these pajamas (which are now sold out anyways) caught my eye and I can’t stop thinking about them. Do I get on the waitlist?
Price: $94
Harmony Brooch
A broach feels like an heirloom item that should be passed down generation-to-generation, and for that reason, I’m hesitant to buy a cheap one. That said, I do love this design and, because I’m new to the brooch world, I feel like testing out the trend with something cheaper might be worth it.
Price: $20
COS Clean Cut Long-Sleeve Tee
Can you believe I don’t own a striped long-sleeve tee?! This one looks like the perfect shape, thickness, and cost but I’ve never ordered from COS before. If you have, do you recommend the brand, and ipso facto, this piece?
Price: $49
Annice Faux Fur Coat
If I haven’t already mentioned this 1,000 times I’m moving to New York in January (!!) and my outerwear is lacking. This seems so chic to throw on over any outfit and feel put together. My only worry is it’s really bulky and will have me looking more bear than Bradshaw.
Price: $298
Hinge Cuff Bracelet
In my mind’s eye I can already see how I’d wear this cuffed over a tight knit sweater sleeve. However, that’s really the only way I’m picturing wearing it, so perhaps it’s not all that practical?
Price: $59.50
Old Sport Waist Belt
I’d style this over an oversized oxford button-down, a trench coat, or a dress. That said, it does feel like a specific styling tool that would either help me get out of my comfort zone or that would never get worn. Thoughts?
